LatinXHikers + Centro Hispano + Tennessee RiverLine - Get Out and Paddle
Time & Location
About the Event
Join us on May 22nd to celebrate and enjoy the Tennessee River! LatinxHikers, Centro Hispano, and the Tennessee RiverLine have partnered to provide a fun-filled day of kayaking, food, and music. Participants can choose from three different experiences to engage with the river: a guided 5-mile trip from Holston River Park to Suttree Landing Park, an open paddle experience around the Suttree Landing Park Kayak Launch, and a totally on-land option for those who wish to gather at Suttree Landing Park for food, music and socializing. All kayaks, paddles, and PFDs needed for the paddle options will be provided free of charge. Lunch and refreshments will also be available free of charge!
5-mile trip option: This guided paddle experience from Holston River Park to Suttree Landing Park is an opportunity for those who want to be the most adventurous and take a point-to-point trip on the Tennessee River. You can expect the paddle to take around 2.5 hours to complete. The Tennessee River is a flatwater river paddling experience, making it approachable for new and excited paddlers!
Suttree Landing Paddle About: For those who want the chance to get on the water, but aren’t ready to commit to 5 miles or multiple hours of time on the river paddling from Holston River Park, this is your chance to dip a paddle in. We’ve set up hour-long blocks of time for you to put in at the Suttree Landing access and paddle around and return to Suttree Landing access. Paddle for the whole hour or 30 minutes, it’s up to you! There will be volunteers out on the water to help with any questions or problems!
No Paddle Option: For those who want to enjoy the river from afar, you can do that too! We will have music, food and games to gather by the river.
Feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns! I'm excited to see all of you out there on the river!
